News From PSA, Inc. - Spring 2012 - This has been an exciting quarter for Professional Systems Associates, Inc. (PSA)! Details of CMPROficiency+ 2012 are finalized, Desktop Engineering features CMPRO in their April issue, CMPROficiency.com introduces "CMPRO Community," and PSA is exhibiting at NDIA's Annual Missile Defense Small Business Programs Conference.

News From PSA - Winter 2012 - This quarter Professional Systems Associates, Inc. (PSA) will be focusing on helping people learn about CMPRO and how to use it more effectively through a new Learning About CMPRO newsletter publication. Additional training opportunities are also on the horizon with registration for the CMPROficiency+ 2012 training event officially open. PSA will also be on the road in March exhibiting at the ACDM Conference and the Aerospace and Defense Supplier Summit.

News From PSA - Fall 2011 - PSA's fall quarter has been very exciting. Planning for the 2012 conference, CMPROficiency+, is underway and CMPRO has been presented at various recent conferences, with enthusiastic response nationwide.

News @ PSA - Summer 2011 - This quarter at PSA, the focus has been on CMPRO Users with the addition of a LinkedIn Group for CMPRO Users, a successful User Conference - CMPROficiency 2011, the announcement of CMPROficiency.com a website designed with CMPRO users in mind, and the two new features added to CMPRO.

News @ PSA - Spring 2011- The first quarter of 2011 has been exciting at PSA because we have started a new learning series to help people better understand the benefits of CMPRO, PSA employees attended the ACDM Conference, and we are now gearing up for CMPROficiency 2011!

News @ PSA - Winter 2010 - This quarter has been an eventful one for PSA and CMPRO. Some of the accomplishments made include: getting a five star rating for CMII compliance, adding two new workflow documents for DoD users, adding the MEDS Module for NAVAIR users, and becoming a CMPIC preferred vendor.

How to Use CMPRO for Product Lifecycle Management - Configration Status Accounting - Using CMPRO for Configuration Status Accounting (CSA) encompasses change management from end-to-end. There are two distinct approaches to change management in CMPRO: Enterprise Change Management (ECM) and Department of Defense (DoD) Change Management (DCM).

How to Use CMPRO for PLM (Part 10) - As-Built Module - The Work Order and Inventory Management modules in CMPRO integrate with the As-Built module to track the manufacturing and maintenance of end items. This functionality enhances the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) process by tracking end-items already fielded and by standardizing manufacturing and assembly methods.

How to Use CMPRO for PLM (Part 9) – Requisitions - Within the Inventory module of CMPRO, Requisitions are used to manage inventory acquisitions. Requisitions can place items on order, record the cost of materials, receive material into inventory and track the status of inventory purchases.

How to Use CMPRO for Product Lifecycle Management (Part 8) - Non-Conformance Module - The Non-Conformance Module is used to track the failure of manufactured parts or products to meet specified requirements. It is fed with information from CMPRO Drawings, Work Instructions, and other engineering documentation adding another element to the product lifecycle management process in CMPRO.

How to Use CMPRO for PLM (Part 7) - Work Orders and Work Instructions - Utilizing Work Orders in CMPRO is most successful when parts for a system are correctly entered and maintained so that product definitions can be produced as needed. Work Orders provide a workflow-enabled method to manage the building of end-items and assemblies, including recording applicable serial numbers.

How To Use CMPRO for PLM (Part 6) - Inventory Management - The CMPRO Inventory Management module interfaces seamlessly with the Drawing Repository so that inventory control personnel can view drawings of a part or assembly, as well as any other associated electronic documentation. This module is designed to track inventory information for a particular part such as its locations, quantities, condition, and other critical meta-data. 

How To Use CMPRO for PLM (Part 5) - Product Definitions - In this issue we will discuss how more granular product definition data can be generated as part of managing a product with the Drawing Repository, Parts List, Part Master, and Product Definition Modules in CMPRO.

How To Use CMPRO for PLM (Part 4) - Baselines - The objective of establishing a baseline is to define a starting point for further system lifecycle process activity and allow reference to, control of, and traceability between configuration items. System program management normally employs three baselines for the validation and acquisition of systems and subsystems: functional, allocated, and production baselines depending on the requirements.

How To Use CMPRO for PLM (Part 3) - Repositories - The essential building blocks of any product are the documentation that describes the processes, requirements, parts and software required in the construction of physical items.  With CMPRO’s robust repository functions, all of the documentation as well as the necessary review/approval processes are available to satisfy the requirements for creating and tracking product documentation baselines.

How to Use CMPRO for PLM (Part 2) - Project Tracking - The Project Tracker Module in CMPRO is used to manage: Projects, Tasks, Action Items and Requirements. Project Tasks are fed with data from Contracts and Charge Numbers, allowing material cost data to be automatically populated into the project record. Action Items and Requirements are created from the specific requirements of the Contract to be delegated and independently completed.

How to Use CMPRO for Product Lifecycle Management (Part 1) - Contract Tracking - The Contract Tracking Module allows users to track information about Contracts, Contract Tasks, DD1423s, Delivery Items, and Associated Documents. This information feeds and tracks: change documents (ECP, etc.), drawings, documents, project tasks, part requisition and costs, and other related data.
